Meet Bella

Hi, I’m Isabella, but you can call me Bella

Half Italian, half Brazilian, raised mostly on pasta, with a little Amsterdam in the mix. I bring all of it into my teaching: warmth, energy and very strong opinions about how things should be done.

I originally trained as an architect, completing my master’s degree before finding my way into Pilates. The architect in me is still very much here. She creates, notices the details and loves understanding how everything connects. She’ll probably spot that tiny adjustment that changes an entire exercise for you.

The Brazilian and Italian in me? They make sure we have a good time while we’re figuring it out. And a great playlist, obviously.

From Amsterdam to island life

Amsterdam is where I grew into the teacher I am today. I taught across many of the city’s Pilates studios, adapting to different clients, teaching styles and class formats while finding my own voice.

I also managed a studio and organised teacher trainings and workshops to help fellow instructors grow. I loved being involved in both sides of studio life: guiding clients through their practice and creating opportunities for teachers to keep learning.

At the end of 2025, I packed my bags and began travelling through Southeast Asia. Teaching came with me, through classes at local studios and an expanding online community.

These days, home is Nusa Lembongan, a small island off Bali. I teach mat and apparatus at the island’s only Pilates studio, which is also the base for my online classes. Wherever you roll out your mat, I’ll bring a little of my island life to you.

Always a teacher. Always a student.

Across thousands of class attendances, I’ve worked with a wide range of goals, abilities and individual needs. Those experiences have deepened my interest in injuries and rehabilitation: the more questions I encounter in my teaching, the more I want to understand.

That’s what keeps me studying. Helping you is what fulfils me most, whether that means finding a cue that finally makes sense, adapting an exercise or helping you feel confident doing something you hadn’t thought possible. I want our practice to help you understand, love and support your body and feel more capable in the life you live outside class.

My education is rooted in BASI Pilates, and I continue to build on it:

  • BASI Comprehensive Global Certification
  • BASI Pilates for Rehabilitation Certification
  • BASI Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies Certification
  • BASI Mentor Program (currently enrolled)

A teacher in your corner

My work with fellow instructors started quite naturally: I was the student with the organised notes, and soon I was sharing them to help other BASI students prepare for their certification exams. Apparently, years of architecture deadlines had their benefits.

I love helping an instructor reach that “oh, now I get it” moment. Whether we’re working through repertoire, refining a cue or figuring out why a sequence feels awkward, you can expect honest feedback, encouragement and practical ideas you can take straight into your next class.

I work especially closely with BASI students and instructors, and I welcome teachers from other backgrounds too. I want to help you feel confident in your knowledge and comfortable teaching in your own voice.

And if you teach with music, we absolutely need to talk. I have thoughts. Plenty of them.
